As BC Notaries, there are are three main areas where we can help:
1. Perform Real Estate Transfers (acting for Buyers or Sellers) and register Mortgages;
The lender sends us mortgage instructions and the realtor’s office sends us conveyance instructions together with the contract. Then we prepare the documents that are necessary to transfer the property and register the mortgage that secures your loan from the lender; or discharge when we are refinancing or acting on a sale.
2. Prepare and advise on Wills, Power of Attorney and Representation Agreements;
A Will is a document which leaves instructions for those who outlive us with regard to who will be our executor, guardians of our children and who will be our beneficiaries. A Power of Attorney is a document that allows others to sign documents for us, with regards to banking, business documents, real estate matters, etc.; but does not allow for health care decision making. A Representation Agreement is a document which names someone to act for us with regard to health care decision making; in the event something happens and we are unable to participate in our own decision making process.
3. Provide General Notary Services
This includes certifying true copies of documents and notarizing documents such as affidavits, statutory declarations, travel consents and various other documents requiring that they be sworn or signed in the presence of a notary public.
